Introduction to the module
The module will provide participants with the digital competences needed to navigate the World Wide Web, use email and other forms of communication, participate in social media, the basics of online safety and the importance of learning on online platforms.
Learning goals of the module
After completing this module, the learner will be able to:
1. Use the web with effective skills in searching for information on the web, employing advanced search techniques and filters to obtain relevant and reliable results.
2. Use the web and critically evaluate the reliability and credibility of online resources.
3. Use Email and other forms of communication, so they will be able to create and manage an email account, implementing organizational strategies for efficient email communication.
4. Use social media and implement privacy settings on social networks to control the visibility of personal informations.
5. Understand the importance of online safety.
6. Effectivley utilize online learning platforms (e.g. MOOCs, online courses), navigating course content, participating in discussions and completing assessments.
